CRUISE COLLECTIONS 2017 Cruise season arrived and it was easy to tell: social medias were filled of pictures from the most spectacular venues the maisons chose as a runway for their cruise show. For some of these brands, the outstanding locations were after all the main strength of this season’s cruise collections, which many described as “in search of an identity”.

Westminster Abbey was just the background of the strong, richly detailed collection Gucci presented last week. The boho, geeky and somehow dark mood of the collection was definitely british inspired, without taking away that italian elegance imprint which makes the brand be one of a kind.

Not much to say about Dior, which is always timeless yet contemporary. The “Dior Express” train took editors, influencers and the rest of the fashion crowd to the Oxfordshire countryside to showcase the new cruise collection.

Vuitton went all the way to Rio de Janeiro for Nicolas Ghesquière‘s third cruise show at the maison. The inspiration was once again clearly futuristic, but with a focus on sport inspired pieces such as color block dresses which did not make it to my three-faves selection you see above.

The best location of the season was definitely the one Chanel opted for. La Havana saw on its streets a bunch of models, stars and editors from all over the world. Who was there says that cubans were actually an integrating part of the wonderful cheerful atmosphere the permeated the island. The mood of the show was “casual chic”, mixing and matching different styles in a really big -somehow too wide- collection this year. Above, a few of my favorite styles.
