BALMAIN STYLE Founded in 1946 by  designer Pierre Balmain, Balmain is a french fashion house that keeps setting trends season after season on the catwalk thanks to its signature looks and cool clothing. The military, elaborated and embellished style of the maison, has become a statement for fashion connoisseurs as well as celebrities and you sure have spotted some of their pieces on personalities like Kim Kardashian or Kate Winslet. The trendy army style of Balmain was inspired by the fact the designer was in the French Air Force during World War II. It was when Pierre Balmain came back from war that he was able to focus his full attention on growing his fashion brand, helping to reestablish french couture after the war. Balmain style is sexy, edgy, elegant and modern at the same time, representing quite well today’s multifaceted woman. In this post we are sharing with you guys a few editorial images from the brand, that will make you appreciate army inspired clothes more than you ever did. It isn’t only about military jackets and capes though, Balmain has mastered the art of making dresses creating stunning intriguing pieces that will make your jaw drop with their studs, drapes and crazy detailing. Balmain’s creative director today is Olivier Rousteing (are you following his adventures on Instagram?) who has helped the maison develop its image in the past few years. On Balmain runway in Paris last September we saw eye-catching pieces that went from vinyl jumpsuits, leather skirts, the brand’s classic mini dresses, but also some pretty french-style inspired total looks featuring striped tops and black pants. No matter what will be on trend next season, you will always want to wear that Balmain style blazer or mini dress in your closet. What do you guys think? Do you like this iconic french brand? Down here are some favorite picks from the brand, go through them and click on the images if you want to know more about the garments. Xoxo, Irene
