[tab title=”EN”]Dolce & Gabbana Religion has had a strong power of influence since its origins, for which it has permeated different spheres of society with values and believes.  Fashion is one clear example for this; nonetheless, it has also been an element that has challenged standards imposed by religion. Within this contradiction, we would have never imagined Catholicism would become an inspiration for fashion industry.
Dolce & Gabbana brought together these two fronts for their Fall’18 Ready-to-wear collection, that they named Fashion Devotion. Italian brand depicted a modern version of Baroque period, which is recognized by ornamentation and accumulation of detail. Clothing full of stamps, animal print and brocade fabric flourished in this runway show; but what caught the audience attention were the religious references.
Images of the Virgin on sweatshirts and dresses, thuribles as handbags, a model with an outfit that made her look like a very fashionable angel and finally, models dressing like priests. Maybe for some people, this was a controversial show because of the theme that inspired it, but the truth is, creativity for this collection was stimulated by Stefano Gabbana’s personal perception of Catholicism and by what it means to him to go to church.

Public was astonished from the beginning; italian brand is far from being recognized for its subtlety and we had it clear when we saw the first model walking with a replica of her head in her right hand. But it doesn’t end there; runway show’s goal wasn’t to simply cause an impression but to create conscience about a current diversity all over the world. Collection includes pieces referring to different cultures, such as, chinese pijamas, indian turbans, english tweed, iconic logo clothing and more. Extravagant elements like the heads, dragons and even a third eye in one of the model’s forehead, served as an hyperbole for what Alessandro Michele wanted to express; nowadays there are no longer dichotomous distinctions between man/woman, pretty/ugly or normal/different. Today “we have to decide what we want to be.”

Autumn allows us to compose outfits of various clothes, light and thick, that bring personality when you know how to pick and combine them; Ermanno understood this to perfection and reflected it in a collection inspired by masculine and feminine details. In Scervino’s collection, coats and sweaters stand out, among other things. The first outfit couldn’t have better introduced us brand’s style: a striped sweater on top of a coat above the knee, stilettos and a small handle bag; all this in a warm autumn palette of brown shades. We also appreciate the subtle combination of boots with loose skirts and pants, as well as suits with tennis shoes. Collection is full of materials and elements that communicate warmth, openness and, of course, style.

[tab title=”EN”]Etro It is always a pleasure to be at your hometown; it was even a bigger one for Etro, to launch its Fall’18 Ready-to-wear collection in its city of origin, Milan. Veronica Etro presented a radiant collection in Boho style, where outfits moved along the runway, delighting the eye with autumnal tones. Natural fiber textiles accentuated brand’s familiar essence, as well as prints and patterns gave away a creative and fun energy. Owning bohemian style, fringes couldn’t be absent from clothes and some accessories, as was the case of a beautiful green coat with dark brown fringes on the torso and pockets. We also appreciated on the runway, dresses with looseness and a dynamism achieved thanks to the play of internal diagonal lines. Belts were a constant accessory in Etro’s collection; from different size and colors, they were the cherry on top of italian brand’s ensembles.

[tab title=”EN”]Moschino You can’t imagine the idea that inspired Jeremy Scott’s Fall’18 Ready-to-wear collection. Do you want a clue? Aliens. ¿Still haven’t guessed? Conspiracy theories inspired American designer, specifically, the one that explains Marilyn Monroe’s death. JFK supposedly revealed to her the truth about aliens existence; iconic actress wanted to bring this to light, but she suffered an unfortunate luck. And it doesn’t end there, it turns out, Jackie was an alien herself!
Bright colored outfits from the 1960s, pillbox hats and wavy hairstyles that don’t skimp on hairspray, were the highlight elements of the runway. Kaia Gerber opened the show on a monochrome vibrant red suit reminding us of the perfect first lady. In collaboration with Ben Frost,  an Australian artist who makes advertising illustrations, Jeremy Scott launched very creative and  dresses with a illustrations that reflect pop art to perfection, from which Marilyn Monroe served as muse for Andy Warhol’s oeuvre.
Which ever it is our opinion about aliens existence, the truth is that they were the protagonists of Moschino runway show: models painted in neon colors that contrasted with their outfits, walked along the runway of an extravagant and intriguing show.

Aliens ¿Todavía no adivinan?
